This tribute is in the loving memory of Mr. Kamaleddin Zamanian, born in Tehran, Iran, in 1936. He was 12 when his father passed away, and feeling the financial burden on his family of six, he dropped out of school and joined the general workforce. At the age of 27, he married Rezvan Abbasi, with Kamran and Kamelia being the fruits of their marriage.
The family moved to Khorramshahr, a city in the south of Iran and Mr. Zamanian began working in a bank while studying for his high school diploma at night, for the next 4 years. He then went on to receive a scholarship to study finance at the University of Tabriz.
Mr. Zamanian was known for his generosity, charismatic personality, loyalty in friendship and kindness of heart; amongst family, friends, co-workers and even clients.
Following the inception of the Islamic revolution in Iran in 1979, and the expelling of Baha’i children and youth from schools and universities that ensued, he was instrumental in moving his family to the U.K. in search of a better life. In 1992, following a massive heart attack, Mr. Zamanian passed away at the age of 56.
